Chunky Apple Bread Recipe
Chuncky Apple Bread

Bread pan size: loaf pan
Temp: 350 °F degrees
Bread baking time: 50 to 60 minutes
Servings: one bread loaf


Replacing the oil with apple sauce will add flavor and save you calories.

Apple Bread Baking Directions

1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup applesauce
2/3 cup honey
2 eggs slimly beaten or you can use egg substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/2 cups apple, cored, peeled, cut into small chunks
3/4 cup chopped walnuts, reserving 1 tablespoon for topping.

Apple Bread Topping:

2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
dash of cinnamon

In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, applesauce and honey. Add eggs one at a time, beat in vanilla and milk. Add flour, salt, cinnamon, baking powder.

Gently fold in apple chunks and walnut. Pour apple bread batter into a greased loaf pan. Combine topping ingredients together and sprinkle down the center of the batter.

Pre heat your oven and bake apple bread for the allotted time or until a toothpick inserted near the center of the baked apple bread loaf comes out clean.

Cool the Chunky Apple Bread 8 minutes before removing bread from the pan onto a wire rack. Serve warm or cold with honey butter or cream cheese.
