Ritzy Caramel Apples Recipe

Directions

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Pan size: medium saucepan
Total time: 1 hour
Servings: 6


6 medium apples
1 - 14 ounce bag KRAFT Caramels
2 tablespoons water
30 RITZ Crackers, coarsely broken
1/4 cup colored candy sprinkles

Insert 1 wooden pop stick into stem end of each apple and set aside.

Place caramels in a medium saucepan. Add water; cook on medium-low heat until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly to keep from burning.

Dip apples in caramel mixture. Immediately roll bottoms of dipped apples in ritz crackers, then in candy sprinkles. Place caramel apples on a parchment or wax paper - covered baking sheet; let stand 30 min. or until caramel is set. Store in refrigerator up to 2 days.

Helpful Hints:
Use Your Microwave to heat caramels and water, in a microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 to 3 min. or until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring every min. Continue as directed.
