Baked Apple Pork Chops

Baking Directions

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Pan size: 9 x 13 inch baking dish
Temp: 375°F degrees
Baking time: 40 to 45 minutes
Servings: 4


2 tablespoons canola oil
1 cup chopped onion
4 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
1 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
2 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup hot water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Heat oil in a large skillet. Saute onion in canola oil for 1 minute or until onions are tender. Remove onion and set aside. Brown both sides of pork chops.

Place chops in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover the chops with the apples and cooked onion.

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, cloves and water. Pour over pork chops. Cover with foil, bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Enjoy!
