Apple Almond Wheat Bread Stuffing Recipe

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Pan size: 9 x 4 greased baking dish.
Temp: 350°F degrees
Apple Almond Stuffing baking time: 30 minutes.
**If stuffed in a turkey, bake stuffed turkey according to the turkey package.**
Servings: 6 to 8

Apple Almond Wheat Stuffing Baking Directions

The apple and almonds really give this apple almond stuffing a great flavor.

2 cups chopped Granny Smith apples
1 1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
4 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 cups dried wheat bread cubes
1 cup craisins
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup cider or apple juice

Pre heat the oven. In a large skillet, add the first 5 ingredients. Saute for a few minutes. Stir in cinnamon, poultry seasoning, then toss in the 6 cups of bread cubes. Add craisins, eggs and apple cider or apple juice.

Pour apple almond stuffing into a greased 9 inch loaf pan. Bake.

** To stuff a turkey, use plastic gloves on your hands to "grab" the apple almond stuffing and insert it into the turkey. Cook according to the turkey package for stuffed turkey.

**Chopped Nuts**
When a recipe calls for chopped nuts, chop nuts first.
