Savory Apple Stuffing Recipe

For a great combination of baking apple; use Granny Smith, Braeburn, Jonagold, Empire, Regent, Spartan, Newtown apples or a mixture of your favorite apples together.

Savory Apple Stuffing - servings 6 to 8

Savory Apple Stuffing Baking Directions

1 - 6 ounce package stuffing mix for chicken or pork
1 medium apple, chopped
1/4 cups craisins
1/3 cup chopped onion for 1 to 2 minutes

In a microwavable safe dish, cook the onions for 1 or 2 minutes or until crisp soft. Adding the apples, craisins, and cooked onions, cook the stuffing mix according to the package directions. Serve Savory Apple Stuffing as a side dish.

Stuffing your favorite poultry with this Savory Apple Stuffing directions

1 - 6 to 8 pound poultry

Preheat the oven according to poultry package. Rinse and clean out the bird, pat dry with a paper towel. Prepare apple stuffing as directed above. Do not stuff bird with the apple stuffing until ready to bake.

Stuff bird lightly with prepared apple stuffing. Bake as directed on poultry wrapper.

Bake any extra apple stuffing in separate covered casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray in the oven with bird during the last 30 minutes of baking time.

The bird is done when meat thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the birds brest and the center of stuffing reaches 170°F.
